The day after the night before...๐Ÿคข

Sunday was always going to be a struggle....a 4:30am finish the night before and loads of alcohol is not good for me. Joyce and the boys were up quite quite sharp but it was pretty much lunchtime before I was able to roll out of bed. Hangovers are never good for me these days.

After a coffee and a bit of a clear up in the garden a delicious breakfast made me feel better, but again the temperature was high, 36'c showing on the vans thermometer. So again it was a day of recovering and chilling out...we seem to be getting quite good at chilling out, lol.

We stripped down the gazebo, tidied all the tables, cleaned the spit roast and generally all mucked in with what needed doing, many hands make light work and also it took my mind off my fragile state a little. We all had a bit of pool time but again it was too hot to take a wander down the woods. The thunder clouds were today gathering and for an hour or so some hefty claps of thunder and bit if a downpour finally cooled us all down a little.

A huge peach sponge ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ was baked by Monika and we enjoyed that late afternoon, this lady is a fantastic cook. We chatted about non alcoholic drinks made by different countries to keep workers in years gone by off the beer.....Austrian Almdudler made as alternative to alcoholic beverages was rather nice and refreshing.....unfortunately we didn't bring any Irn Bru, Scotlands famous 2nd national  drink on this trip....again created as an alternative to beer and said to help us Scots get through any a tough situation.

Evening dinner tonight was BBQ'd pulled pork, with a hot sauce which had Ina's eyes watering๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜‹.  And also by now we were fit for a few more beers, tonight was a lovely relaxed evening. We checked out Ina and Bjorns glass outdoor living space....its not like a typical conservatory as all the glass panels can open or close independently rather than fixed and wondered how a structure like this could be fitted at our house Linlithgow, there are certainly possibilities. It has to be said, that a superb job of all upgrading work has been done and credit is due for all the hard work over the last few years.

Bedtime was at a sensible time tonight....Ina and Bjorn have work tomorrow and we need to be sober to drive north......and that...at last is the option we have chosen....it is simply too hot and we need something cooler and hope that heading towards Scandinavia will provide something more suited to us pale Scots.
