Legoland take 2!!

Tuesday 11th July.

75 miles plus 5 miles to camping just north.

Four years ago on our big trip we had visited Legoland and ever since then both boys had said they wanted to go back, so we were within striking distance and decided to give them a bit of what they wanted. We were not super early up and on the go and the forecast wasn't perfect but we got our tickets booked on line which is cheaper than at the gate and got ready to go. We ate a whole tub of yogurt between us rather than let it waste in our less than cold fridge, sorted the van and headed to rema2000 for ice which we duly packed into the bottom tray in the fridge...then crossed our fingers and toes and hoped it would help matters. It had been on gas all night but there's so much in it that we wondered if we were just overworking it, time would tell.

We headed up to Billund and got parked, the carparks were most definitely busier than 4 years ago... but that had been in May before the school holidays. We headed in and had a good day checking out the amazing lego models of various towns, cites or structures. Some of these are huge with up to 900,000 pieces being used in each of their builds. Lego planes taxi along runways, boats sail along canals or rivers, cranes lift boxes...you name it, it all happens here just like in real life.

We wandered around and had a go on as many rides as we could, the cues were a bit big but never bad and we even got Joyce in a few roller coasters which is good, she is not too keen on this type of thing. The boys enjoyed it, the rides are less extreme than Eftling which I think they preferred, though I could be wrong...they enjoy a bit of an adrenaline rush.

It was nearly 8pm by the time we were ready to leave, the heavens had opened also, the queues to get out the carpark were at a standstill so we cooked and ate dinner in the carpark before heading a few miles north to a farm who allow up to 5 vans to park. It's a nice wee spot, has cost us 10 euros, there's a wee football park for the boys and the lady who runs the place is going to bake us some breads and bring them to the van at 8am tomorrow morning, good stuff!!

Callum and Logan played football for a while, Logan and I went for a walk to check out a wee nearby lake and its now bedtime again....the days are now flying by....

We have checked out our options from here and tomorrow we will head east towards Sweden and hopefully do an anticlockwise loop, returning to Denmark via Norway in 2 weeks time. What can we cram in, in that shortish time frame πŸ€”...we shall see.

On a positive note...our fridge now seems much colder, I can definitely confirm thisπŸΊπŸ˜‹ our freezer stuffs are again 100% frozen. Our plan is to keep doing the ice bags so will grab a couple more in the morning and hopefully muddle through this wee problem.
